The short version
We collect as little as we can get away with: your email if you ask for something, and your name and address if we're posting you a book. We don't sell anything to anyone, ever, and we don't run advertising trackers on this site.
What we collect and why
| Data | Why | Lawful basis | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email address | To send the free sample and the Slow Post letter | Consent | Until you unsubscribe |
| Name, address, email | To fulfil and deliver an order | Contract | 7 years (tax records) |
| Order and payment reference | Accounting and refunds | Legal obligation | 7 years |
| Messages you send us | To answer you | Legitimate interests | 2 years |
| Basket contents | To remember what you chose | Strictly necessary | In your browser only |
Cookies and storage
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Your basket is stored in
your own browser using localStorage and never reaches our servers.
Clearing your browser data clears it.
If we ever add analytics, it will be a privacy-preserving, cookieless tool, and this page will say so before it goes live.
Who else sees your data
- Our payment provider, which processes payment and acts as merchant of record for digital sales.
- Our email provider, which stores your address if you subscribe.
- Royal Mail, for the address on a parcel.
That's the whole list. We don't sell, rent or share personal data with anyone else, and we never will.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to processing, or withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@milimethod.co and we'll action it within 30 days, usually the same week.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Sensitive data
We deliberately do not collect health data. Our books are used privately and nothing you write in them is transmitted anywhere. They are paper and PDFs, with no accounts, no sync and no analytics. If we ever build a “choose your feeling” tool on this site, it will not store your answers, and it will say so on the page.
